The Center will be a multi-dimensional community wellness center that will become a leading provider of knowledge, skills, and information necessary to support optimal health and well-being. The Center will structure programs and services using the multi-dimensional model of wellness. The Center will help the residents of Apache Junction and surrounding communities develop healthy lifestyles to achieve a quality life, by connecting them to the services and resources they need to be self-sufficient and achieve their optimal level of health. Ultimately, Apache Junction and surrounding communities will benefit by creating a vibrant, active community were community members are engaged in community affairs, businesses thrive, and people visit.
The Center will achieve this goal by assessing the community's assets, identify gaps in each of the seven dimensions of wellness, and develop or identify programming that addresses these needs.
Programming will be made available by developing partnerships with a variety of health and human service providers, workforce development agencies, and community based organizations. Programs and services will be delivered in collaboration with health professions students, coordinated by the Greater Valley Area Health Education Center, a regional program that offers community health education internships and volunteer opportunities to a variety of health professions students.
Community members will be able to take advantage of programs and services at free or reduced rates. This will be accomplished by developing strategic partnerships and leveraging resources. Financial resources will be sought from private and public funding sources and in-kind contributions will be sought from local business partners.
